Maxvorstadt - München

UP COFFEE

Slow-poured espresso. Whisked-to-order matcha. A small bar on Adalbertstraße.

Open today - 7:30 to 18:00
A bowl of whisked matcha and a ceramic cup sitting on a pale concrete counter.
The matcha bowl is whisked for each cup. No pre-made pitchers.

Around the corner

A small bar, a short list, eleven seats.

We roast our own blend once a week with a roastery two streets over and grind each espresso by weight. Our matcha comes from a single farm in Uji and we whisk each bowl to order - never pre-made, never thinned with milk.

The room seats eleven. The playlist stays under the conversation. Adalbertstraße 12 is two minutes from the university and the kind of corner people walk past once and then walk back to.

Pitch view

What this concept covers for the owners.

A short reason this site earns the bar a few extra regulars, and a few minutes for whoever runs the roastery.

  1. 01

A menu that reads in an S-Bahn tunnel.

Item names read first, descriptions read second, prices are monospaced so the eye lands on the euro without a search. Mobile-first by default.

  2. 02

    An always-on location board.

Street address, postcode, and the day's hours in one place. No buried Instagram bio, no "check Google for hours", no walking past a closed door.

  3. 03

A visual identity that stays out of the way.

Editorial but quiet enough to live next to a Persival or a Man versus Machine. A site the district's regulars send their friends to, rather than past.
